How to Install Asset Packs Correctly in UE5

This guide explains the correct ways to install Andersta Studios asset packs into your Unreal Engine 5 project. All assets are delivered as a full UE project structure—simply extract the ZIP and move the correct folder, or use Unreal Engine’s built-in Migrate tool.

Understanding the download structure

After downloading the ZIP file, you will see a complete Unreal Engine project structure, similar to:

DownloadedAssetPack/
└── Config/
└── Content/ └── Collections └── Developers └── YourAssetFolder └── Config/ └── .uproject

The folder you need to install always is:

Content/YourAssetFolder

Method 1 — Manual Installation

1. Download the latest version

Download your asset from the My Library page after logging into Andersta Studios. All downloads include the latest UE5-compatible files.

2. Extract the ZIP file fully

Do not drag files directly out of the ZIP. Fully extract the archive first to avoid missing references.

3. Copy the asset folder into your project

Open your Unreal project directory and find:

YourUEProject/
└── Content/
      └── YourAssetFolder

Copy the folder:

Content/YourAssetFolder

into your project’s Content/ directory. Your assets will now appear in the UE Content Browser.

Method 2 — Using Unreal Engine’s “Migrate” Feature

If you prefer a cleaner workflow, you can migrate the asset folder directly from the included UE project. This ensures all references (materials, textures, blueprints) are copied correctly.

1. Open the included sample UE project

Inside the extracted ZIP, open the file ending with .uproject.

2. Locate the asset folder in the Content Browser

3. Right-click the folder → Migrate

Unreal Engine will show all assets that need to be transferred. Confirm and continue.

4. Choose your target project’s Content folder

Navigate to:

YourUEProject/Content/

Unreal Engine will automatically transfer all necessary files with correct references.

Additional Tips

  • Always make a backup of your project before adding new content.
  • Restart Unreal Engine after copying files to reduce shader compilation delays.
  • Duplicate materials/blueprints before editing them to avoid conflicts with future updates.
