Keeping your Andersta assets up to date

Asset Updates

Learn how Andersta Studios asset updates work, how to download the latest versions from your account, and best practices for updating existing projects without breaking your scenes.

How asset updates are delivered

Whenever we release an update to an asset pack (for example: engine compatibility fixes, new meshes, improved materials, or bug fixes), the latest version is made available in your My Library section under your Andersta Studios account.

You do not need to repurchase the product. Once you own an asset pack, you automatically get access to its future updates as part of your license.

Downloading the latest version

To make sure you are using the most recent build of an asset pack:

  • Log in to your Andersta Studios account.
  • Navigate to your My Library page.
  • Locate the asset pack you want to update.
  • Download the latest available version from there.

The version in your library will always be the most up-to-date package we provide for that asset, including compatibility updates for new Unreal Engine releases.

Updating assets in an existing UE5 project

If you already use an older version of an asset pack in a live project, we recommend the following workflow when updating:

  • Create a backup of your project before making any changes.
  • Download the latest asset pack version from My Library.
  • Unzip it and open it in a separate UE5 test project, or on a copy of your existing project.
  • Compare changes, then use Unreal's Migrate feature or manual copying to bring updated content into your main project.

This approach helps avoid breaking references and allows you to test new content before fully committing it to your production project.

What if an update changes something important?

Occasionally, an update may include structural changes (for example, renamed folders, new material setups, or reorganized blueprints). In such cases:

  • Review the included changelog or ReadMe file inside the updated pack.
  • Test the new version in a separate project first.
  • Avoid overwriting your existing customized assets—duplicate and migrate only what you need.

If you rely heavily on customized versions of our assets, consider keeping your own copies in a separate folder to avoid conflicts when new updates are released.
