UE5 / Technical Help

Troubleshooting common Unreal Engine 5 issues related to importing assets, materials, shaders, blueprints, and project compatibility. Follow the guides below to resolve the most frequent problems our users encounter when using Andersta asset packs inside Unreal Engine.

Asset Import Errors or Missing Files

If imported assets are missing textures, materials, or meshes, ensure you're using the correct UE5 version supported by the asset pack.

Some assets require a full project refresh:

  • Restart Unreal Engine after copying assets into your project
  • Right-click the Content folder → Fix Up Redirectors
  • Verify that folders were extracted with correct structure
  • Ensure file paths do not include special characters (e.g. č, ė, ø)

Materials or Shaders Not Compiling

After importing a new asset pack, Unreal Engine may need time to compile shaders — especially if you haven’t used similar materials in the project before.

  • Wait for shader compilation to complete (bottom-right of UE window)
  • Ensure the project uses D3D11, D3D12, or Vulkan rendering API
  • Update your GPU drivers
  • Use the “Rebuild Shaders” option from the materials window

Blueprint or Script Errors

Some packs include UE5 Blueprints designed for quick interaction or prototyping. If you see warnings or broken nodes:

  • Click Compile in the Blueprint editor
  • Right-click inside Blueprint → Refresh All Nodes
  • Ensure required engine plugins (e.g. Enhanced Input) are enabled
  • Check if you are using the correct UE5 version (e.g., 5.1 → 5.3 changes)

Performance Issues (FPS Drops / Stuttering)

If the project runs slower after adding assets, try:

  • Reducing Nanite or Lumen settings for testing
  • Disabling Virtual Shadow Maps if the project is small
  • Checking texture sizes (8K → 4K → 2K)
  • Using Profile GPU to identify heavy materials

Version Compatibility

All Andersta assets specify the minimum supported Unreal Engine version on the product page. If you import an asset into an older UE version:

  • Blueprints may break due to missing engine features
  • Materials may show errors (especially post 5.2 updates)
  • Lighting settings may not be supported
